ADMISSION POLICIES AND ACADEMIC STANDARD   REQUIREMENTS.

In order to gain admittance into a Programme, applicants must be sure that they fulfill all of the prerequisites set forth by the AGU. It is a universal mandate that all applicants meet the requirements demand by the university.

Bachelor Degree

  • High School Certificates or equivalent
  • Each student is required to complete a total of 120 credit hours. AGU may grant exemptions if you are transferring other University credits.
  • Transferred credits are accepted to the degree programs that are offered by the university.

Master

  • Each student is required to complete a total of 81 credit hours.
  •  All Masters Programs must have a thesis and must be approved by the Higher Degree committee of the centre.
  • All applicants must have completed a Bachelor Degree or equivalent in a complementary field of study.

MPhil leading PhD

  • All applicants must have completed a Bachelor Degree or equivalent in a complementary field of study or must have completed a Masters with a thesis defended. AGU requires students in all of its doctoral programs to demonstrate proficiency in both qualitative and quantitative research methodologies
  • Students admitted into a Ph.D. program at a AGU initially registered for the degree of M.Phil., and then  transfer onto the Ph.D. upon successful completion of the first year of study: this will often involve the submission of a dissertation by the student, and possibly an oral examination or presentation made at the Graduate School.
