The initiative is hosted by various institutions and focus on different aspects of leadership.
Key programs and organizations include:
- Global Leadership Training Programme for Sustainable Development in Africa (GLTP): Implemented by the United Nations University Institute for the Advanced Study of Sustainability (UNU-IAS) and sponsored by MEXT Japan, this program targets postgraduate students and researchers to deepen their understanding of sustainable development challenges and opportunities in Africa.
- African Leadership University (ALU): ALU offers various programs including a Global Leadership Program that sends students to Stanford and Silicon Valley for entrepreneurship and innovation training.
- Africa Science Leadership Programme (ASLP): Co-developed by the University of Pretoria and the Global Young Academy (GYA), ASLP aims to identify early- to mid-career academics with leadership potential and train them to apply these skills to academic development across the continent.
